Christmas Eve Dinner

The line cooks were so fast it was like to we were watching fast forward.  This time the pork was the most memorable part of the tasting menu.

Plenty of Pelicans

We missed our kitty

When we had the chance to hold a lion cub, I couldn't resist.

A good day

Ian said it was a good day fishing since he didn't fall in.  He came back to the hotel when his fishing rod started icing up.

Bench with a view

Another sunny afternoon in Maupin.  I'm inside reading while Ian is standing in the cold water.

The frosty landscape on the way to Maupin

The start of Christmas boat season

Our neck of the woods is where the boats turn around.  We love the whale and fire engine boats.

First time at the Grotto's Festival of Lights

It was truly amazing.  I can't believe I've lived here 30 years and this is the first time I've gone.

Room 210

We are instructed on the wall to be spiritually calm while we look at a big dead kitty.

View of the Deschutes from the bridge

Room 210 at the Imperial Hotel

Our favorite room is the top level on the left hand side.  We had a spectacular sunny weekend.  While Ian was standing in cold water and waving his arms, I was on the balcony reading and watching the birds and the river.

Not very occupied.

Went to Pioneer Place on Saturday, and thought I'd see Occupy Portland.  Found out they had relocated for a few days to make way for the Portland Marathon. Instead I saw pretty in pink.

The Apple Store at Pioneer Place

The last time I saw something like this is when I was in London,  just after Princess Diana died.

Where's Steve?

We lucked out with the weather.  Most of the walk was rain-free.
It was great catching up on theater talk .

The leaning dog

I have a soft spot for dogs that lean.  This one was outside the Starbuck's on 23rd Avenue.  I asked someone who works at a dog hotel if Burmese Mountain dogs are known for leaning (we have an n of 2) and she laughed and said they seem to, as well as some other large dogs. I find it incredibly charming.

Team Mo Jo

The first time I've walked for the cure instead of slept in for the cure.  A small but mighty team.
